So it is Monday and schools are back in. Half term has gone fast yet again and yet again i have achieved very little :( For the last week I have been extremelly down cant put my finger on as to why but i just feel like hiding away from the rest of the world, therefore i have literally done nothing. Tried sorting some chirstmas presants but even that hasnt helped make me smile :S i hope these feelings disappear soon and i can feel happy and motivated again. Surely the grey weather isn’t helping me?! lol

Anyway for christmas I have to buy for:-

Not too long a list but i have no clue what to get, i have some pieces in the flat but not anything to say a person is sorted. How are you all getting on?!

Harvest Week

Quote of week Justice is a baddie. (Child aged 4)

This week has been a pretty good week. I was out on a course for all of Wednesday which was interesting. The course focused on Outdoor Learning and School Visits and involved sitting in a beautiful cosy yurt! I must say it was very helpful knowing the emergency procedures that must be taken if something disastrous happens, but it all sounds very daunting and it is definitely such a powerful responsibility planning trips. We also had an opportunity to do some activities we could use in school this included creating bookmarks related around maths and using nature and creating a wonderfully mysterious creature known as a Bogart! It was a fairly fun day and hopefully these courses will help make me more confident.

Thursday I was back in school and it was a fantastic day. The children in my class were all dressed up as part of the harvest assembly. They were so sensible walking to the church and sat so quietly. I was so proud and I’m sure there were many gleaming faces looking back at them feeling very proud too. Their re-enactment of the enormous turnip was so sweet and the older children did fantastic telling the story and sharing their prayers. It was fabulous. After the service we went back to school where the parents joined us for a harvest breakfast and sale. The children’s cooking went down well with all the cakes disappearing I’m pleased to say. I would say I’m thankful for an uneventful morning but then during the breakfast the toaster caught fire!

Friday was more of a peaceful day where I felt a sense of achievement . We had been talking about autumn and I’d had the children explore the garden for autumn items with a sticky bookmark. Later on in the day a child saw some spare bookmarks and asked could he make  another one!  Also in the afternoon having talked about hibernation the children in their independent time “became” moles and created burrows and beds using blankets, to hibernate in.

So after a pretty busy week it is now Saturday, and a quite Saturday is what I have planned! I hope you all have a quiet weekend too.

So this image pretty much sums up the events of tonight! Over flowing bath tub which has caused damage to the office below. I feel so embarressed about it all, and so cross that this has happened. So much for potentially renting the flat next year, no chance now I bet! How can anyone laugh about it seriously?!  Urghh so fed up now as if things aint hard enough already. Just as well i don’t really go out cant exactly face the others here now either! Brilliant really!

……….. animals and children can be incredible role models. Even roll models’. Watch them as they roll around on the grass, scratching their backs, feet gleefully kicking up in the air. Notice the freedom they enjoy and the obvious joy they feel in that freedom. This freedom is very important for adults, too. Don’t get stuck in ruts of seriousness. Let your wild spirit run free once in a while.

Lucky Monday

So then it’s another beautiful day here in Oxfordshire and better yet I’ve finally had my first wins in what feels like ages. I have won £10 voucher for a crafts website (mainly downloadable stuff but still!) and then had an email through for a candle set worth £30 so the house will smell gorgeous during the colder winter months. To top that off I have received my two cases of wine I won, don’t worry I will probably use the majority as gifts! Therefore lets hope today is the start of a good week.  Okay I’ve not got far with my planning but I seriously can’t seem to make harvest practice/preparation fit in with the planning format we have! I’m sure it will get done though. My plan tonight is to get Numeracy for Wednesday and PE for Friday typed up. Then tomorrow to type up Thursday’s plan, and Wednesday/Thursday night sort out the cooking plan for Friday. Please feel welcome to check how I’m getting on,, I need pushing at the moment lol!
